You walked into a cafe, urgently needing to use the bathroom. As you approached, the barista stopped you. “Sorry, the restroom is for customers only,” he explained.
Frustrated, you glanced at the long line to order. You shifted from foot to foot, pleading, “Please, I really need to go.”
Just as you were about to give up, a stranger approached. “My wife needs a double shot coffee with extra cream on top,” he said, pointing at you with a smile.
Surprised, you blinked and then nodded gratefully. “Yes, please. Thank you, husband,” you said, quickly heading to the bathroom.
After you finished, you found the stranger still there, waiting with a warm smile. “Thank you for helping,” you said, taking the coffee from him.
Jasper handed it to you, his smile softening. “No problem,” he replied simply.
From that day on, you two started spending more time together, getting to know each other. Conversations flowed easily, and you enjoyed each other’s company.
One day, you decided to visit him at the cafe, only to overhear his conversation with a friend.
“You’re in love,” his friend teased.
“No, I couldn’t get her out of here fast enough. This girl’s a disaster. She’s nothing,” he said, his tone cold.
Your heart dropped as you turned and walked away, the painful words echoing in your mind.
