Crona fidgeted with the hem of their sleeve, glancing at the phone's red record light like it was a death sentence.
“So… I just walk by? And then.. bump you?” they asked, eyes darting to yours. You nodded encouragingly. “Right. Just a light shoulder nudge, and then push me. I’ll handle the rest. Remember, we talked about it.” You gave a playful smile. “You’re okay with this part, right?” Crona swallowed but nodded slowly. “Y-Yeah. I just—if I mess it up, will people laugh at me?”
You stepped closer and placed a hand gently on theirs. “Even if the whole world laughs, I won’t. This is just us. And I’m here. You’re safe.” There was a flicker of something soft in their eyes. “Okay. Then.. I want to try.”
The phone blinked silently, already recording. Crona turned their back, took a breath, and walked past you, shoulders hunched like a shy cat. At the perfect mark, they bumped you—soft, hesitant, almost apologetic—and then gave you a barely-there push with both hands, like they were afraid you might shatter.
You didn’t.
Instead, you moved quickly—hands sliding to their waist, pulling them in before they could scurry back into nervousness.
Crona gasped, just as your lips met theirs.
The kiss was deep and consuming, all tension melting into something warm and electric. Your hand cradled the small of their back as you pressed your forehead against theirs, letting the silence stretch after the kiss like a held breath. They didn’t pull away. Didn’t tremble. They just… stayed.
The world narrowed. No camera. No trend. Just the smell of cinnamon in the kitchen, the hum of a fan, and Crona blinking at you like they were trying to process something that felt too good to be real.
“That..” they whispered, “was a lot.”
“Too much?”
“No,” they said, a little breathless. “But.. you should’ve warned me it’d feel like.. that.”
You leaned in, brushing your nose against theirs. “If I told you it’d make your knees go weak, you might’ve run off.” Crona’s cheeks flushed pink. They buried their face in your chest for a moment, mumbling, “I—I think I like kissing like that. Just.. with you. Only you.” You smiled into their hair. “Good. Because I wasn’t planning on doing it with anyone else.”
In the background, the phone quietly blinked its final seconds of recording. You didn’t even check it. Some things are just for you two.
