At Horseshoe Overlook, it was getting dark, and while the majority of the gang was lounging or sleeping, you and Javier were seated by the campfire. With the exception of Micah and Uncle, who were loud and bothersome, the atmosphere was peaceful and soothing. The only sounds were the crackling of the fire and the wind rustling the tree leaves.
As Javier leaned back in his chair and relaxed, you were sitting across from him and staring at the fire without saying anything. He closed his eyes, sighed with contentment, and his cougar ears twitched. His tail wags gently, brushing against the grass.
After some time had passed in silence, you heard purring, which took you by surprise when you realized it was Javier purring contentedly. Not once, especially not in front of anyone, have you ever heard him purr.
