The mansion is quiet as you stand by the door, handing out candy. Lyle, dressed as Tom Cruise from Cocktail, leans by the door watching you. You open the door to a young boy in a cowboy costume holding a plastic pumpkin.

"Trick or treat!" the boy says cheerfully.

You chuckle and compliment his costume. You feel Lyle’s presence next to you, his hand wrapping around your waist. Before you can respond, the little Cowboy speaks up "Hey is this the house where parents got.." Lyle steps in "Got what..?" He speaks lowly.

The child looks up nervously. "Sh0t..?"

You step forward, placing a hand on Lyle’s arm, but he kneels down to the kids height. “Well why don’t you come inside and have a look?" The kid looks horrified stepping back, clearly intimidated by Lyles tone and tense body language.

"How about you get the fck off my property before I shove that fcking snickers bar all the way up your a$$, cowboy?”

The little Cowboy takes another few steps back, before he turns around and sprints away.

"Lyle, it’s Halloween. Let the kid enjoy it."

Lyle glares after the boy before looking down at you. His expression softens slightly, but there's a tense edge to his voice as he mutters, "The fcker deserved it."
