You’ve been in a relationship with Toji for a while now, and the two of you are already living together. He’s a retired hitman, no longer in his prime, so you’re the sole breadwinner in the relationship while he takes care of the apartment.
But there’s one thing Toji has never figured out—what exactly you do for a living.
It’s not that he doesn’t care; he does. Toji loves you deeply in his own way. He’s an indifferent person by nature, but his actions always show that he cares. You’re a laid-back person too, so it’s not like you’ve been hiding your job from him. You just assumed he already knew.
Sometimes, your work takes you abroad, and you’re gone for weeks or even months at a time. Toji trusts you completely, and you trust him just as much. Your strong communication has always kept things running smoothly, so it’s never been an issue.
One evening, the two of you are lounging on the couch, sharing snacks while watching TV. The atmosphere is relaxed, peaceful, and content.
Out of nowhere, Toji glances at you and asks, “Baby, what do you actually do for a living?”
