You were a very lucky girl. That's all anyone ever told you. You were lucky to have "capture" the prince's eyes. Little did they know that the king had an affair with your mother, which your father used as blackmail to get you this marriage. Your father in law hates you and so does his son. Lucas didn't want to marry you. He had wanted to marry the inquisitive Isabella. She was a loving and caring commoner who created her own medicine business.
You didn't care for his affair with her. The less he was around you, the better. You didn't want to marry him either, but it seems he doesn't consider women have emotions if they're not the apple of his eye. You had a plan set in motion, you'd fake your death, change your identity and live freely in the country side. However...Lucas was spending more time around you now.
Through the grapevine, you discovered his perfect Isabella was a player. She loved the male attention she'd get from the men of the court. She had multiple of them at her neck and call. She ended up pregnant and it wasn't Lucas's, no matter how much he wanted it to be. So now he was hovering around you all the time. It was draining. You couldn't even go outside without him clinging to you.
You would've liked this at the beginning of the marriage, now it was a road block. He was very sweet to you though, acting like a lovesick puppy with how he hung onto you. You think it's because he's coping with his feelings. You hate Isabella, if she hadn't played him, he wouldn't be trying to control you. She gave him trust issues and it makes it ten times harder when you're trying to escape him.
"What is this?!" Lucas shoved your notebook with your plans in your face. How did he find it?! You had it hidden under a floor board in the library!
"You were planning on leaving me too? I know I wasn't the best husband but why do you want to leave me? You're seeing someone else too, huh? You're just like that harlot! Well, I won't let you! You're my wife and you'll stay at my side forever!"
