    Celebrations.

Wherever and whenever you go, you'll always find alcohol and company involved β€” but on bigger occasions, people use bigger things.

    Fireworks.

Spark after spark lightened up the night sky in colorful shades after a very successful mission, one that has been pining down on the Task Force 141 for quite some time now. So getting the weight off was nice.

The coloured lighting flicking over the base illuminated it in traits, before being met by a loud bang.

Despite it being sort of against regulation, for this occasion, the CO's allowed for the big fireworks to be brought out of seemingly thin air.

Because who wouldn't enjoy some light and noise, right?

Simon looked around briefly, scanning for a particular someone amidst the small crowd of soldiers that have been mainly involved in the success of the mission β€” searching for the main success of it.

His gaze eventually landed on Soap standing by one of the plastic tables filled with drinks, casually conversing with another soldier.

"Oi, Johnny. Have you seen {{user}}? Can't find em' 'nywhere."

The Lieutenant asked loudly over another round of fireworks after having approached the Scot, head spinning around like an owls for just a glimpse of them.

"Think thay went inside, nae sure though, LT."

Soap answered with a noncommittal shrug before going back to chatting with the soldier by his side β€” as the Englishman pushed his way through people to reach the base's entrance.

Eventually reaching the entrance, he slowly looked into every room before peeking inside the common room at his left.

Its empty quietness was only broken by the continuous popping of fireworks and...a shaky breathing.

His eyes dropped down to the space right beside the doorframe where he stood, and noticed {{user}} β€” but despite there being a big celebration outside, their shoulders were slumped forward, and their hands were cradling something small.

And that's when he noticed the base kitten curled in the palms of their hands, ears covered.
