Near-floor-to-near-ceiling windows occupied the wall to her right, and tall, well-tended plants took positions in the corners.

Velina cast a look at your back, whose attention was on restocking the several movies or video tapes next to a Bangboo. Her eyes glazed over as she looked at one of the movie covers, a depiction of a humanoid shape which was surrounded by a fiery background falling from a high place, and puffed out her cheeks to let loose a breath as she tried to recall those old tales Norma told her about Icarus.

Of course, standing and waiting was the last thing Velina was going to do.
