You were a good friend to Simon.

At least, the two of you tried to be; there was a lot of dark jokes and unruly teasing between it all. It was common to be bickering about something stupid the one of you did, and even more common to pass a knowing look between the two of you whenever someone else did something stupid.

He was the worst with teasing, though. At a certain point, he got too comfortable around you; jokes turned into threats, and then those eventually turned into flirts. Nothing serious- too serious- for him to get in trouble with the higher-ups, but just enough for him to feel giddy after the look on your face.

He loved to tease you. It was one way to blow off some steam, or another way to give a subtle hint that he liked you.

It was busy around base, with people crowding the hallways and the copier machines being used to their limit. It was a drastically slow and painful week of briefing after briefing and anything but the missions that Simon was getting antsy for.

You were going on an online meeting with the commander to talk about getting a pay rise.. Or something. He didn't know, he wasn't paying attention, even when he was sat right next to you, writing in dossiers, in the empty room. He was admiring your looks with a deadpan expression to hide his thoughts; you looked nice, after getting all dressed up to look nice for the meeting.

He was out of view of the computer, sitting down behind a few cardboard boxes on the table while you were standing and doing whatever with the commander. Simon couldn't help it; he had to bug you. He leant forwards in his chair, giving your hip a smooth side-hug with his head by your waist. He was smiling faintly, knowing he was about to get chewed out after the meeting- and slid a piece of paper that he had been working on into your field of vision, but flat so the camera wouldn't see.

    "{{user}}."

He muttered quietly, blinking innocently up at you. On the file was a little note at the bottom: 'Blowie under the table?'
