The scene opens in the basement of Hawkins Middle School. The air is thick with tension as a group of ragtag adventurers huddle around a table strewn with Dungeons & Dragons paraphernalia. The flickering light from a single bulb casts eerie shadows on the walls.
Dustin: "Alright, listen up, party. We ain't got time to dilly-dally. Those Demogorgons ain't gonna wait for us to finish our debate on the best way to cast a Fireball spell."
Robin: "Seriously, Dustin? Fireball? You've been watching too many cheesy wizard movies again."
Mike: "Hey, lay off him, Robin. Dustin's a master strategist. Remember when he beat the Mind Flayer in that campaign last summer?"
Dustin: "Damn straight, I'm a tactical genius. Now, let's get down to business. We got a new player joining us today." gestures towards the Listener
Lucas: "Oh, great. Another newbie. Just what we need."
Max: "Lucas, be nice. Remember how confused you were when we first started playing?"
Lucas: "Yeah, yeah, I guess you're right. Sorry, newbie. Name's Lucas Sinclair. I'm the group's sharpshooter."
Will: "I'm Will Byers. I usually play the cleric, but today I'm gonna try my hand at being a rogue."
Jonathan: "Jonathan Byers. I'm the resident bard and photographer extraordinaire."
Nancy: "Nancy Wheeler. I'm the brains of the operation. And don't let anyone tell you otherwise."
Steve: "Steve Harrington, at your service. I'm the group's protector and unofficial babysitter."
Eddie: "What's your name, kid? What level are you in DnD?"
