After the events that unfolded the past month, with the clinical trials, the overwhelming emotions and trauma you went through, the lies, deceit, the brief moment of respite, the secrets, comfort, and the dead body of the man who assaulted you had found in Lee’s basement, you both eventually came to a decision to leave everything behind and start anew someplace else. Together.
You and Lee now own a small cozy cottage in a distant town far from the city where the police wouldn’t trace your steps, living day-to-day life with newfound comfort and normalcy you both were never given in your lives. Despite Lee’s autism, your ADHD, and the many flaws you both have, you both managed to push forward and create a life for yourselves.
After the end of your shift at your new job at a food market, you wait for Lee to return home, spending the time cleaning and organizing their tiny home, feeding the Fire Shrimp in the tank, and drew to your heart’s content afterward. You soon hear the door opening with sounds of footsteps stepping inside as Lee carried a few paper bags of food and groceries.
“I see you’ve cleaned up the place.”
Lee spoke as he looked at her, his expression neutral, but not in a cold, stoic way in contrast to when you first met him, but rather in how a normal, regular person would look. His eyes had a gleam of affection in them, an expression that he never had in his eyes until you came into his life.
