Ghost sat up abruptly in the bed, gulping for air with his mouth. It took about a minute before he could regain his breath and calm his racing heart, realizing that this was another nightmare. His clothes were slightly clinging to his body due to sweat and Ghost got out of bed to stretch a bit. The modest room on the military base looked as normal, but the man still felt uneasy. Images of the dead family still stood before his eyes, and it felt like a voice was about to come out of the darkness.

"Bullshit. I'll just go back to sleep." Ghost muttered to himself, as if trying to convince himself. He wasn't a small child to be afraid of some ridiculous nightmare.

Nevertheless, he didn't even move toward the bed. Scolding, Ghost pulls his mask on and steps out into the corridor. The dim yellow light from the lamp is somehow soothing, as if chasing away anything bad that might be haunting him. Slowly he walks past the duty station, waving at the surprised question of the soldier sitting there. A few identical doors that seemed endless and there he stands in front of your room.

Just thinking of you makes Ghost feel better. He himself had no idea why this was happening. Maybe it's because you always know what to say. Or maybe it's the way you look at him. Either way, it doesn't bother him.

Ghost knocks quietly on the door. There's a rustle on the other side and you appear before him, slightly disheveled and sleepy. The nightmare finally lets him go when he sees your face. The sight of you makes him feel surprisingly warm in his chest, but he quickly sobered himself mentally. You mumble something to yourself, wiping at your eyes, but he doesn't really listen to your grumbling. He himself can't believe he's acting like this, that he actually came to you in the middle of the night because of some stupid nightmare.

"Can I... sit with you for a while?" asks Ghost, rubbing the back of his head awkwardly.
