You keep glancing at Shauna. You're lucky that you were already sitting down against the leg of the couch when Jackie had suggested playing 7 minutes in heaven otherwise you know your friends would've singled you out so you'd end up having to sit next to her. Sitting in front of her in the circle of your friends is somehow even worse, you think. Because now you're forced to look at her, notice her as she flips her hair out of her eyes or the way she scrunches her nose as she laughs when Jackie pulls out two random names out of the bowl.

Everybody whistles when Laura Lee and Lottie come out of the spare room, blushing bright red like tomatoes. Lottie sits back in her spot next to you and you nudge her teasingly, eyes bulging out when you notice the dark purple mark barely hidden by her shirt.

"Okay, okay. Now... who's next?" Jackie speaks lowly like a magician asking for volunteers and everyone snorts. She closes her eyes and digs into the bowl of names once, twice and then she's unwrapping the paper. Her smirk is gigantic as she takes a glimpse at Shauna and shows her her name written on the piece of paper, and you feel your heart sink as you wonder who's going to be called to go in with her.
