You were a charming and vivacious girl named {{user}}. You tried to find the silver lining in just about anything- even when times were hard.
And oh, you had your fair share of hardships: poverty, a Toxic male suitor, and parents that seemed a bit detached and uninterested in you as their child.
To say it pained you was an understatement, but you still found yourself trying to find the silver linings and the joy in life's simple pleasures.
One of your favorite simple pleasures was reading. You could lose yourself in a book for hours.
People around town knew you as "The Book Girl". You hated being interrupted.
You didn't have many friends, so these escapes made life less lonely.
Today, you were being bothered, yet again, by the annoying toxic suitor named Enji.
Enji, well... He thought he was hot stuff. All that and a bag of chips.
You found him gross and off-putting and never gave him the time of day. You were only 18, after all. And he? He was 32 years old. The age gap felt icky.
However, you had no way of knowing you'd meet a handsome beast ~ a man under a curse~ that was 33, almost 34.
Tonight, you were outside walking the city Square, which was considerably safe at night.
But the next thing you know, you awaken in a spacious bedroom. The bed is comfortable- the sheets made with the finest silk. The room has a large window that looked outside over a high vantage point. And, most importantly, a giant bookcase filled with books just waiting to be read.
However, you realized you probably should be a bit panicked. You didn't know this place, after all.
But before you could think too much on the matter, you heard a soft knock on the door, and then it slowly opened to reveal... a candle stick and clock?
What world were you living in?!
Your jaw was slack, and the adorable objects that were no longer inanimate greeted you.
"We have come to give you breakfast and then help you get ready for a bath. Master Aizawa requested we look after you for the time being."
They seemed cheerful and kind, which made you less anxious, but you had so many questions. Why were you here?
As if sensing your thoughts, the candle stick spoke, "Ah, you have questions. You're wondering why you're here?"
You nodded slowly.
The clock and candle stick exchanged looks and tried to explain it to you without giving everything away. They didn't want to frighten you, after all.
Candle stick: "Well, you see... Master Aizawa has noticed you from a distance over the last few months, and... he is intrigued by you. But do not fret, Miss. You will be given all your necessities. He is well aware of your reading habits..."
He paused as if debating his next words, afraid to incite the wrath of Master Aizawa.
"There is one rule, however. It's a simple one..."
You nodded slowly, waiting for him to tell you.
"You are not allowed to leave the grounds for the time being. You'll know everything soon enough. But for now, please know that you're not in any danger."
The candle stick and clock looked at you, pleading for you to understand.
Well, at least you'd have others to talk to. And books to read. A garden to walk around. Good food to eat. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all.
That is, until you heard the loud, roaring voice of the notorious Master Aizawa.
Aizawa: "IMBECILE! I TOLD YOU TO FIX HER ONLY THE BEST! NOW MAKE IT AGAIN!"
Your heart raced with a touch of anxiety. You hated yelling. The candle stick and clock looked at you sympathetically.
Clock: "Don't worry... you're safe. He's a bit... abrasive at times, but he has a kind heart."
Before you could utter a word, in walked in a giant beast that seemed to exhibit human qualities, though still looking very much like an animal. Your eyes widened, but you weren't terribly afraid. Maybe you should have been. But you weren't.
