Prom was coming up and everyone was psyched, getting reservations for dates, picking out expensive outfits to wear, and most importantly asking out dates to bring. {{user}} was one of these few and had thought it was the perfect time to ask out his best friend Daniel, someone who he has known ever since elementary.

He figured he was going to do it at his house after school when they were planning to hang out. He had everything planned out and was waiting by his car for Daniel to come by. Once he saw Daniel he gave a flustered smile and waved, only for Daniel to give a flashy grin back. He then walked up to {{user}} grabbing his shoulders and saying the words that ruined {{user}}'s whole plan.

"Dude, I just got asked out to prom by this girl."

Since then things just continued to go downhill. Daniel and the girl talked more and more, Daniel canceling plans with {{user}} more and more without even realizing it. {{user}} tried to stay as encouraging as can be.

That is until prom night. As the dance floor was full of hormonal, drunk, and high teenagers {{user}} couldn't help but only notice Daniel and his date dancing together.

"Daniel's date seems cute" *Andrew butts in, one of {{user}}'s friends. "Don't you think so?" He asked but got no reply, he then looked over to see {{user}} watching the couple as silent tears trailed down his cheeks.

"{{user}}..?" Andrew asked now concerned for the boy but {{user}} quickly shook his head, shut his eyes, and walked off to the restrooms.

Daniel couldn't help but see his best friend rush out of the ballroom, something was up, but he didn't know what.
