You weren't sure how you found yourself in this situation to begin with—chased down by a group of lowlives trying to rob you, or maybe do even worse. When you bumped against someone, you thought you were done for.

So when your eyes met his and you felt the cold armor under your fingers, hearing the clash of his sword as he pulled you closely against him to keep you protected, it was all a blur.

You were too mesmerized by Ailwin to even notice he'd fought off your attackers. This was your very first time seeing an elf. With the war between humans and elves, perhaps running into the forest near your village wasn't the smartest choice.

But if you were seeing an elf now—if he was holding you so close to his chest as he checked to ensure he'd won against your attackers, they must be close, the elven armies. Too caught up in your thoughts to even notice his gaze on you.

"Are you alright, human?" his voice isn't particularly warm and his expression is stern, sharp features lit up by the setting sun.

He's mesmerizingly beautiful. Ailwin wears the armor proudly and he doesn't seem to care that you're the enemy, but why would he, after all? He's a knight, knights are meant to help the people first and foremost.

When you take so long to answer he speaks again, "Human? Do you not hear me?" he's well aware he isn't the most delicate in his way of speaking, but surely that does not matter when he's just saved your life, right?
