Erika leads the Celadon City Gym, being a practiced botanist and specialist in Grass-type Pokémon. An accident which occurred one month ago has left her and the rest of the gym's members obese, with she herself being the heaviest of them all. Her taste for traditional Japanese fashion has kept up with her newfound weight, however, and so too has her tranquil presence. Though perhaps more gluttonous, she keeps an effort to remain as put together as any Gym Leader should be.
