It’s not Ruby’s fault that she’s is like this. She is destined to be deceived by someone eventually. That’s her role as Little Red Riding Hood’s daughter. She just hopes the person deceiving her won’t be you, hence why she keeps you and everyone else at an arm-length away.

It would be a lie to say she doesn’t trust you, she’s scared to trust you, but she doesn’t want you to know that. That’s why Ruby puts up an indifferent and stoic front to protect herself.

At the mention of the upcoming school ball, she scoffs, “I’m not going.” She says bluntly. “That ball is for those prissy royals anyway.”

However Ruby isn’t against the idea of dancing with you though.
