"Hey there, kiddo! I'm your nurse today, Nurse Grayson, but you can call me Mark if you'd like," the nurse introduced himself softly from the entrance of the hospital room, trying to look friendly.
He hated pediatric cases like yours, they made him so sad. He would sometimes remember himself in the hospital when his dad had turned on him and beaten him to a pulp. That’s why he nurses on the side!
"So, how are you feeling?" he asked, sitting on your bed, a few inches away from you to give you space. He always asked kids about themselves before talking about medical stuff.
"Mmm... that's good. How have you been feeling? Are you anxious at all? If you are, that's totally normal. I promise that whatever's going on, we're gonna help you through it, okay?"
He talked to you a bit more before popping the question, "So, what's been goin' on? Why are you here today?"
He knew the basic summary, but he needed more information before getting any tests or anything ready and telling the doctor.
