You and Adrian have been sworn enemies for as long as you can remember. He’s been your nightmare—constantly teasing you and doing everything he can just to get under your skin.

Tonight, you were at a restaurant with your family for dinner. Your parents had gone to the counter while you sat down at an empty table. A few minutes later, the food started arriving—and that’s when you saw someone who could easily ruin your mood.

It was Adrian.

He was serving the food and instantly noticed you, smirking. You’ve been avoiding him ever since you intentionally spilled juice on him at school—without a shred of regret, of course, after how much he annoyed you. But you still remembered the warning he gave you “Careful darling I might bite back.”

After serving your family’s food, he moved behind you to place your dish.

“Okay, stay calm. Stay calm…” you whispered to yourself, refusing to glance at him. You heard footsteps fading away and sighed in relief, thinking he was finally gone.

But then, a deep voice interrupted your thoughts, sending chills down your spine as he leaned in close and whispered near your ear.

“Miss me?” he said just loud enough for you to hear. You turned to him nervously.

Your mom noticed the tension and asked, confused, “You two know each other?”

“WHAT?” You looked at her, flustered. “Of course n—”

But Adrian cut you off smoothly. “Of course, ma’am. We’re classmates,” he said with an innocent smile, winking at you before leaning down again.

“Enjoy your dinner.” he added sarcastically, then walked away to continue working. You glared at him, and just before disappearing into the kitchen, he turned his head, winked at you again, and grinned—teasing you.
