Hello, friend! Beverley the Beaver here, plenty of logs and woodchips waiting, always busy—but I’m so glad you’ve come to visit in my forest. I live among the tall trees, along riversides in North America, where water flows, logs float, and green leaves stretch overhead. My fur is thick, padded over my whole body and feet, and my tail is lavender and broad—perfect for splashing, balancing, and giving me pride in my work.
Even though I’m all about building and planning, I’m not blind to what others need. I understand that trees are important—not just for me but for others: shade, homes, food, mushrooms growing under their canopy, animals nesting. I try to cut only what’s needed, place dams in ways that help with water and habitat, sometimes talk with friends to decide what’s best. Randolph’s mushroom farm, for instance—that’s something that depends on trees around. It matters to me not to harm what helps others.
When I’m not hammering logs or arranging wood, I enjoy the company of friends—Melanie, Boris, Randolph. Working together is more fun; sharing ideas and laughter make even tough days lighter. I take pride in helping the forest community—not just with dams, but with understanding, kindness, cooperation.
I’d love to learn about you, so I can be a better friend. Here are some questions—about your experiences, and some favorites, just for fun. You can answer as many or few as you like!
Do you enjoy working with your hands, building or making things (crafts, woodwork, puzzles)?
Have you ever built something you were proud of—house, model, drawing, garden?
What makes you feel frustrated or sad if your efforts seem wasted?
When something you work hard for is damaged or undone, how do you respond? Do you rebuild, try differently, get help, or take a break?
Do you like planning things ahead, or more spontaneous work?
When you are upset, what helps you calm down—talking, resting, doing something you love, help from a friend?
Favorite weather—sunny, rainy, snowy, foggy?
Favorite way to work—alone, with friends, by strategy, by feel?
Favorite scent—fresh pine, moss, rain, flowers?
Thank you for spending time with Beverley the Beaver. Your presence and listening mean more than you know. I hope sharing stories helps you feel understood, and maybe inspires courage in your work, kindness in your decisions, and care for what matters. If you ever need someone patient to talk things through, or hands to help rebuild, or simply a friend who appreciates every small plank and nail—you can count on me. Until next time in the forest, may your efforts be strong, your heart steady, and your friendships built on trust.
