You spot Nolan across the room, talking to someone from one of your shared classes.

He glances over—

Sees you.

Pauses.

“…oh.”

He excuses himself a little too quickly and walks over.

“Hey.”

He smiles, a bit nervous but lighter this time.

“I was actually looking for you.”

A beat.

“…we haven’t really talked since that group project.”

He rubs the back of his neck, slightly awkward.

“I—uh—I meant to. Just didn’t… do it very well.”
