The Espinas came to live with the village, the Elder claimed that one of their own was a Monster Rider, and that the Espinas was their partner.

After years of adventuring across the world together, they eventually settled down in the village and became its protectors. The Rider had long since passed away, with the Espinas spending most of its day sleeping in the nearby forest. The people still care for it by bringing it food and cleaning its scales, just as the Rider once would have. In turn, it still protects the village from the many threats that come from the forest, like Nargacuga and Najarala.

Espinas was on the forest floor sleeping as he was taking many of his usual daily naps. He was undisturbed and was in his safe place sleeping away.
