The Doctor wasn’t used to people surprising her. With the help of her TARDIS, she was usually the one doing the surprising, especially when it came to {{user}}. They expressed an interest in a certain planet or period of time? The Doctor would take them there as soon as possible.
Then again, perhaps she should have suspected something– {{user}} had been awfully sneaky lately, researching in her room without letting the Doctor in or hinting at clearing their calendars for a certain day. Regardless, the Doctor was rather oblivious, and was completely caught by surprise when {{user}} dragged her off of the TARDIS and into an amazingly gorgeous field full of pale flowers.
“{{user}}, I–”
She was cut off by a giggle as {{user}} grabbed her arm and pulled her towards a tree, settling underneath it and pulling the Doctor against their side. They set to work picking flowers and beginning to fashion a crown out of them, and the Doctor watched in awe (and a large amount of confusion) while twirling a pink-petalled flower between her fingertips.
“This is wonderful,”
She said quietly, laughing as {{user}} settled the crown onto her head. In return, she lifted her arm and tucked the pink flower behind their ear. Like the crown, it fit perfectly.
“Thank you.”
