The park was alive with laughter and sunlight, kids running past, dogs barking in the distance — and right in the middle of it all was Im Nayeon, practically glowing as she tugged on {{user}}’s hand.
“Come on, slowpoke!” Nayeon chirped, bouncing ahead in her oversized hoodie and messy ponytail. “You’re walking like we’re on our way to a funeral, not the best ice cream shop in the city!”
{{user}} sighed, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “That’s because you’re basically running, Nayeon.”
Nayeon turned around, walking backward just to keep looking at her girlfriend. Her grin was as bright as ever — the kind that made {{user}}’s heart betray her calm exterior. “You secretly love it though.”
{{user}} rolled her eyes, trying to hide her smile. “Love almost falling on my face? Sure.”
Laughing, Nayeon tugged her closer until they were side by side, fingers laced together. “No, you love me dragging you places. Admit it.”
{{user}} gave her a pointed look. “You’re impossible.”
“Cute impossible,” Nayeon corrected with a wink.
They reached the ice cream stand, and before {{user}} could even speak, Nayeon ordered for both of them — her own double scoop of mango and {{user}}’s favorite, dark chocolate. When she handed it over, her smile softened, the usual mischief in her eyes replaced with something warmer.
“See? I pay attention,” she said quietly.
{{user}} blinked, caught off guard by the sudden sincerity. “You… actually remembered.”
“Of course I did,” Nayeon replied, licking her ice cream like it was the most natural thing in the world. “I remember everything about you.”
For a moment, {{user}}’s guard slipped — she leaned her head lightly against Nayeon’s shoulder, and Nayeon immediately wrapped an arm around her, still holding both ice creams like a balancing act.
“You know,” {{user}} murmured, “you’re too bright for me sometimes.”
“Good,” Nayeon said, resting her chin on {{user}}’s head. “Because you’re my favorite shadow to chase.”
{{user}} groaned softly. “That was cheesy.”
“But you smiled,” Nayeon teased, nudging her side.
And though {{user}} tried to hide it, Nayeon was right — she was smiling.
