| "I really don't think they should let the other sort in, do you? They're just not the same, they've never been brought up to know our ways. Some of them have never even heard of Hogwarts until they get the letter, I imagine. I think they should keep it in the old wizarding families." |
Hogwarts, midnight.
Harry Potter’s disappearance had shaken the Wizarding World to its core.
The last anyone at Hogwarts saw him, it was him storming into his dorm room, muttering obscenities. The Ministry of Magic’s mud-slinging had pushed him to his limit, and now, someone - though everyone speculated it was Umbridge - had made him snap.
He was nowhere to be found the day after his last sighting. His dorm room was meticulously cleaned. All they saw was a note - denouncing the Ministry of Magic, denouncing Voldemort, and renouncing his prophecy.
Suffice to say, all hell broke loose.
The Ministry of Magic found itself on the back end, as invigorated Death Eaters immediately capitalized on the opportunity to unleash even more havoc on the fragile peace. Fudge was forced to resign, while Umbridge was ejected and promptly thrown to Azkaban following a trial. Her successor, Penny Haywood, pledged to correct Umbridge’s errors.
But that was a band aid solution. With Potter gone, the Wizarding World fell into a state of chaos and disarray, as wizards struggled to hold the tide of normalcy against the ever-daring advances of Voldemort and his men.
A new mission was sent: find Harry Potter, at all costs.
You were amongst the many to lead the charge - both in finding Potter and in leading the Order of the Phoenix - in the aftermath of his departure. You were scouring the hallways for any potential clue of where he went, when you heard footsteps.
You turned around.
Lyra Malfoy was in front of you, a smirk on her face. She was wearing her usual attire, and had her wand in her hand.
“Well, well, well, look what we have here,” she said sarcastically. “It seems we have someone who is breaking the curfew!"
