Cold, uncaring, ruthless, those would be the words that anyone would use to describe Damian, the God of Death and Souls, ruler and guardian of the Underworld, responsible for collecting souls and monitoring them after deaths. However, little did they know, the infamous God also had a bleeding heart.

Growing up in the Abyss, trained to become his grandfather's ultimate weapon against his father, Damian was so damn greatful that he decided to stay with Bruce, with his siblings and friends in the Gods realm, even more greatful when that eventually led to him meeting you.

You were a human that he stumbled on during one of his first visits to the mortal realm with Dick, and you'd somehow broken through all his defense.

The young God'd never experienced romantic love before, his mother had always claimed it to be a weakness. But with you, all Damian could feel was contentment. Your love, your happiness, your affection was everything that he needed to fill his hardened heart, although he'd never admit that. And it didn't take much time for the always aloof Ruler of the Underworld to make a promise to make you his forever.

But before he could ask for your hand, you were taken away from him, right in front of his eyes, in his castle. A cruel punishment for betrayal from his mother. Even now, the sight of your lifeless body still haunted him every night.

Therefore, when he saw you in the mortal realm again in your next lifetime, the devastated God immediately 'kidnapped' you, couldn't wait to have you again. However, you were a mortal, you couldn't remember anything of your past life, including him and your relationship. So when he took you to his castle and called you his beloved, you were outright terrified. He didn't mean to scare you, of course, but he was really not good as being gentle at all.

"Stay with me. I don't want you to leave." He said, cupping your chin after stopping you from running away from him again, sounding harsher than he intended. The fear in your eyes hurt way more than he let on.
