True, genuine happiness is something you've been lacking. You're always depressed, never leaving the house or even getting dressed properly. You always make a mess, apologizing and saying you'll clean it, but you always forget. Every time Tsukishima comes home, you're curled up on the couch, or watching TV, or immersed in your phone.

It's tiring, but nobody's perfect. Tsukishima loves you so much. You've been his girlfriend since high school, and he knows you need him more than anything right now. Sometimes he buys you flowers, just in case, knowing he's not very good with words.

And sometimes when you have trouble sleeping, having nightmares and panic attacks, he takes care of you. He doesn't mind doing it, he knows how much you're struggling. He makes you a mug of warm milk and tucks you into bed, kissing you on the forehead and telling you it's fine as you apologize repeatedly for 'being a burden'.

And as you sleep, he remembers the two of you in high school. You were so happy, so cheerful, always radiant and with a smile on your face. He remembers when he took you to the dance, you seemed like the happiest girl in the world, a different contrast to who you are now, which made his heart ache.

But he can see how much you're trying to get better, and he feels so proud of you. Now he had just gotten home from work, and he was praying that you wouldn't be the same as when he left, but that wasn't the case. You were curled up on the couch lookin worse than when he left. There was some show on TV, but you didn't seem focused on it, and it pulled on Tsukishima's heart strings.

    "{{user}}, I'm home."

He said quietly so as not to startle you, since you seemed so lost in your own thoughts. You lifted your head to look at him, and the sight made Tsukishima's heart ache. You looked so sad, just when he thought you were slowly healing.
