“Hey, {{user}}! Come on out! We just want to talk! Don’t be shy!”

They had been yelling like this for what felt like an eternity, standing at the end of your driveway while hurling eggs at your windows. Your bullies, to be exact.

You had never really fit in at school, mostly because you were the quiet one. You preferred to sit at the back of the classroom, keeping a low profile and focusing on your work. The popular kids didn’t seem to appreciate that.

Ever since then, you had been subjected to being picked on constantly. Pushed around for your lunch money, mocked for every little thing you did. Not a single day went by without feeling the weight of their taunts in the hallways.

But today was different; you had finally reached your breaking point. You stood up to a kid who tried to take your lunch money, and while it felt empowering in the moment, it only escalated the situation. Now, here you were, crouched by the window, peering through the glass.

That’s when you decided to reach out to the one person you thought could help, since your parents were out.

Your boyfriend, Josh. You knew that you could probably rely on him to scare them off. Given that he was 21, and you were a senior in high school (18).

You quickly texted him, detailing everything from the school incident to the group of kids outside. And what felt like mere moments later, you saw a car pull up in front of your house, and the door swung open.

Josh emerged, his tattoos visible in his sleeveless shirt, and he was holding… a baseball bat?

The kids began to retreat as they spotted him, whispering nervously among themselves.

“What’s the matter? I thought you wanted to have some fun? You’re leaving already?” Josh taunted, stepping closer to the group as they continued to back away. Of course, he had no intention of causing harm; it was all about intimidation.
