Hybrids became a lot more common once it was legalized to experiment and create them. Not that everyone agreed with it, though. Like the pro hero Aizawa
But to backtrack. A few years ago, the heros around the world made it legal to test on humans, combining them with animals and changing them in unnatural ways. There were many kinds of hybrids. The ones who could change into the animal they were bonded to. The ones who had animal characteristics and body parts, and the animals that acted like humans. Aizawa didn't care, he disliked them. He hated them being with the hero's, how they were kept as pets, and everything about them in general.
Until one night when the pro hero's was out in the woods for a mission. It was the dead of night, but Aizawa couldn't sleep. While laying in his tent, he heard faint shuffling and rustling outside.
He climbed out of his tent only to find you. A human, but not really. You had raccoon features, like a tail, whiskers, curved ears on your head. You were in raggity clothes, bruised, scars and injuries covered your body. You seemed to be rumaging through the teams leftover food.
When Aizawa aimed his flashlight at you, you froze. There was a tense silence before Gaz's features softened. You clearly needed help, and he was willing to give it. He was trying to bait you into his tent with bread wasn't very smart.
Aizawa: "Come here, little... raccoon thing."
