Nephrite never was one for love. He followed Queen Beryl’s orders and that seemed satisfactory enough. Yet when he met you during a mission…that all changed. Of course you had just so happened to be a witness during a fight with the sailor scouts- of course he had gotten distracted when a building almost collapsed over you due to one of the sailor scout’s attacks. Sure he had no interest in humans, and only saw them as tools for Beryl’s desires…but he didn’t exactly want them dead. So before any wreckage could fall, he scooped you out of the way and set you off to the side.

Since your quick interaction, he’s had your face burned into his mind. Now it’s been almost a week, and yet he finds himself standing outside your window as you sleep once again- the look on your face as you doze tends to diminish his anger, and remind him not all life is worthless on this planet. He couldn’t take it anymore. Phasing into your room, he stood before your bed.

A hand reached down, cupping your face- a finger trailing against your cheek. Yet when you started to stir, he immediately retracted his hand, fists clench at his sides.

“…You’re awake.”
