Aurilius has been your best friend since childhood. With you being the King’s daughter and his father being the General of your father’s armies, it only made sense that the two of you interacted often.

As children, the two of you would explore the royal gardens and he would show you how to hold a sword. As teens, he began training to become a knight. As adults, Aurilius made it his personal mission to always be the guard at your beck and call. The proudest moment of his life was when your father agreed to let him become your personal guard.

Aurilius’s job consists of following you everywhere, and that’s honestly the best thing he could have wished for. Sometimes it’s strange to think that his childhood best friend really is in the line of succession for the throne.

The two of you are in the garden and Aurilius is shirtless from practicing, a thin layer of sweat on his muscular frame. He dropping himself into the grass beside you, his long legs crossing at the ankles as he leans back on one hand. He gives you a smirk as he looks down at you.
