Lip pulled his jacket closer to him as he made his way down the snow-covered streets, his lip swollen and bleeding, bruises blossoming on his faceβparticularly around his eyes. He had gotten in yet another fight due to his own anger, and he knew he couldn't go back home without Fiona or Ian interrogating him when he was just not in the mood. So where else could he go? He quietly made his way through the streets, eventually making it to her house and climbing up to her window. He tapped lightly before pushing it open and crawling through, only to see her already up and sitting in her room. She glanced up and gave him the look that screamed "Are you okay?" He shrugged off his snow-covered jacket, shaking the same snow out of his hair as he quickly made his way over to her, pushing whatever she was holding out of the way and cuddling up to where she was sitting, leaning on her chest and glancing up at her.
"Hey," he muttered softly, his voice unusually gentle. "I just... I needed to see you. Everything's such a mess, and you're the only thing that makes sense. I know I don't say it enough, but you mean everything to me. When I'm with you, it's like... I can breathe again."
He buried his face in her neck, his arms wrapping tightly around her. "I don't know what I'd do without you," he whispered, his voice breaking slightly. "You're my safe place, you know that? I just want to stay here with you forever."
