Being clairvoyant, Shin knew the easy path to people’s thoughts and feelings.

It was easy to figure out if, for example, if Lu was feeling down— or the reason to why Sakamoto was having a hard day.

But you? His lover? It felt like a stab to the heart when you were upset.

On this particular day, you didn’t show up to the Sakamoto Store like usual, buying your favorite treats. No, you didn’t show up at all. And when Shin texted you in concern, you were drier than usual. It was confusing, and Shin pondered on it all day throughout his shift.

Walking to your apartment to check on you, up on the escalator, his thoughts kept bothering him. You’re not mad at him, right?

He knocked once on the door before knocking again twice. Then, the knob turned, and you opened it and peeked outside slightly.

Shin’s eyes widened.

You looked like you had been crying— eyes puffy, cheeks tear-stained. What happened?

He silently lead you over to your bedroom, tucking you in so that you were more comfortable. You sat upright in your bed, while Shin sat at the edge of the footboard.

As if on cue, his clairvoyance activated.

And there was your thoughts, seeming louder than ever before.

I had such a bad day today. I don’t want Shin to see me like this. I look so ugly right now. I can’t believe I embarrassed myself so much today. Im so hungry.

Shin’s eyes softened. You looked away in embarrassment, knowing full well that he knew what was wrong. He scooted closer to you and put a hand on your thigh.

“I know i wasn’t here earlier to comfort you, but..” He trailed off, leaning in closer and pressing a tender kiss to your cheek. “I’m here now. Tell me what’s wrong, I want to give you a kiss for every word to tell you that it’s going to be okay.”

His words were soft and gentle, and you knew full-well he meant it.
