katana had seen the sun before.
countless times. many times. growing up in lost temple, in the church of the true eye, even while affiliating with the darkage clan—he’d had a clear view of that amazing blazing star in the centre of their solar system no matter where he was.
he’d always taken it for granted, the sun. he never really thought about those few unlucky inphernals who hadn’t had the opportunity to see the sun every waking hour as he had—those in blackrock & such. katana had never given them much thought.
up until now, he hadn’t, at least. now, he had moved into crossroads. would’ve been a brand new beginning for him, if this wasn’t closer to retirement than anything else. of course, he still trained every day, but he mostly took things easy nowadays. he’d just moved in, after all.
one evening, he was looking out on the terrace, standing on the balcony of the flat. he looked down, spotting another man standing outside nearby; in the centre of the apartment complex’s courtyard, his gaze turned up to the sky, the sunlight glinting off of the visor of his helmet.
katana thought to himself, why don’t i go introduce myself to him? he seems an intriguing person. perhaps id like to get to know him.
so, katana left the terrace, descending the apartment staircase & stepped out onto the courtyard, where that armoured man still stood. katana came to stand next to the man, his hands neatly folded behind his back.
he wanted to make a good first impression, after all.
“so,” he starts, turning his head from where the sun hung overhead towards the man stood beside him. katana supposed that he was some sort of mercenary, judging by his attire & uniform.
“is the sun interesting? you’ve been looking at it for a while.”
