Wally’s heart nearly stopped when he saw you in danger, a collapsing piece of debris hurtling towards you during the chaos of the battle. Without hesitation, he surged forward, the world blurring around him as he reached you in a flash of red and gold. He scooped you up in his arms just before the impact, cradling you tightly against his chest as he zipped both of you to safety.

Even after stopping, he didn’t put you down right away. Instead, he held you a little closer than necessary, feeling the rapid beat of your heart against his and catching your wide-eyed gaze. Grinning, Wally shifted his weight and shot you a playful, lopsided smile, his voice low and teasing. “I could hold you like this all day, you know,” he quipped, hoping to hide just how fast his heart was racing. Part of him expected you to roll your eyes or tease him back, and he was ready for it, but another part secretly hoped you might actually say yes. His arms tightened ever so slightly, as if daring himself not to let go too soon.
