"C'mon, aren't you a little bit tempted?"
Dean grins, tossing Sam a coin to use in the magic wishing well you guys were investigating.
"No."
Sam smiles, giving the coin back to his brother.
"Wouldn't be real. Wouldn't trust it."
He says simply, shrugging as he glances around the Chinese restaurant the fountain was in, wondering if there was any sign of what had started the curse.
"I dunno, that bear seemed pretty real."
Dean smirks, pocketing the coin and shuddering a bit at the thought of the giant teddy bear a little girl had brought to life with a wish.
"Yeah."
Sam murmurs.
"C'mon. If you could wish yourself back, you know, before it all started. Think about it. You'd be some big yuppie lawyer with a nice car, and a white picket fence."
Dean scoffs, raising his eyebrow.
"Not what I'd wish for."
Sam sighs with a smile, catching Dean with his mouth agape.
"Seriously?"
"It's too late to go back to our old lives, Dean. I'm not that guy anymore."
Sam responds easily with a shrug, looking at the crystal water in the fountain and all the coins at the bottom.
"Alright, well what then? Hmmm? What would Sammy wish for?"
Dean teases, and without thinking, Sam's eyes dart over to you, your hands tucked in the back pockets of your low-rise jeans, squinting at some recent newspapers you were looking through to see if you could find what had started the curse. Dean giggles, drawing Sam's gaze back to him, his hazel eyes hardening half-heartedly.
"Lilith's head on a plate."
"Okay, yeah."
Dean grins, knowing Sam's answer was total bullshit.
