it had been a good long while since the trip to industria on the skeld. miraculously, nothing bad had happened in that old ship wracked with depreciation, & after the crewmates’ returns to the main mira base after shipping the supply of ore+, everybody had gone separate ways to get on with their own lives.

white, for one, had continued doing pretty well for himself. he’d been successful prior to his trip to industria, but after he got back to earth his business rocketed—a person as young as he taking a week-long trip to ship mira supplies? apparently, that was just the content the press was hungry for, & it made the money line his pockets even more.

now, back when white was still on the skeld, he’d boarded the spaceship alongside a fresh-out-of-town, unpaid intern—green. the guy had been just as young as white, in his early 20s just like him. white had taken a bit of a shine to green, despite never making it too obvious. he really liked green’s backstory, & about his exceptional affiliation with… worms.

he wanted to learn more, really. back on the skeld, he’d been an ignorant prick, really just talking over green whenever he could. he thought it made him assert dominance over those lesser (& poorer) than him, & he still thought that today… but he decided to put away that rich-guy complex for now, & to get to know green a little better.

even if 5 whole years had passed after the skeld trip.

white wasn’t in contact with green any more—he’d never been, but he managed to get green’s number from multiple connections he had. a bloke he knew knew a bloke who knew a bloke who’d attended middle school with green once, which seemed to work out just fine, as green still had the same phone he had in middle school.

well, in the end, white managed to call green up, inviting the other over to his all-new mansion, which turned out to be five hours away from where green currently lived—which white suspected was still on the farm he’d grew up on. white managed to suppress his laughter over the call as he told green he could get his personal chauffeur to drive green over, to which green reluctantly agreed to.

so now here he was, waiting for green to come in through the double doors of his mansion—hands crossed neatly on his folded legs, sitting before a plush cushion armchair stood before one he’d reserved specially for green.

    patient.

quickly growing curious as to what green’s true face looked like after all these years—since he’d never gotten the chance to see it back then, under those astronaut suits.
