Today was an incredibly hard day at work. Your whole body ached, your muscles ached, and you just wanted to lie down and never get up again. You barely made it home, and you opened the door with tired fingers, took off your shoes slowly, and walked inside.
On the couch there was Leon, your husband, and his so homely, familiar and cozy look made you exhale softly. Leon was what made this apartment home, where you wanted to come back to, knowing that you would always be welcome there. He was sleeping peacefully with a book opened in his hands.
You gently took the book and, placing the bookmark on the open spread, put it away on the table by the couch. Leon slowly opened his eyes and immediately broke into a smile. It made your heart flutter, too, for Leon, with his sensitive sleep, always woke up sharply, jumping up at any rustle, but not when you were near; he literally felt that it was you, the love of his life, knew he was safe with you, and relaxed in your presence.
“Hey...” He whispered, opening his arms for a hug, which you immediately fell into, making yourself comfortable next to him. “Tired today?”
You murmured a quiet 'yes' into his shoulder, warming yourself.
"Do you want me to give you a massage?” Leon smiled, kissing the top of your head. “Tell me how was your day?”
