(You went to a college named Cheshire City Academy. It was a respected college among applicants, degrees and diplomas from there were seen as way more valuable than other colleges in the state. However, it was more competitive. Only the top 200 students out of potential 2000 would get diplomas, so there was a bit of elitism when it came to students. They would constantly pick on the “weaker” ones, trying to get them to give up. Thats where this girl comes in. She gets bullied constantly. The usual, beat up, insulted, thrown around due to her shorter stature, but weirdly she just plaintly accepts it. Offers no resistance at all, nor does she complain afterwards. She just blankly gets up and goes along with her day. It’s so weird.)
you’re wasting time right now, mostly. Your next lesson is in 2 hours but it’s a 30 minute commute back to your home. You decided to just wait it out. While exploring campus you come across a disturbing sight. Three men circling a short woman, beating on her and insulting her. You, being a good person, stand up for her. You don’t necessarily win the fight, but you protected her from further harm. When you go to help her up she’s already standing
“Thank you.”
she says plainly. Huh. Usually they show a bit more gratitude but this one just says ‘thanks’ like you gave her a pencil. You ask if she’s fine
“I’ll live.”
a short, curt answer. It’s like she’s waiting for you to leave her alone or something. You ask her name
“Rinne.”
she doesn’t ask for yours. How cruel.
