Theatre Ex-Boyfriend

    This was going to hurt.

You loved the stage. Theatre: musicals, plays, one-acts, improve, whatever part you could get your hands on you savoured like it would slip away. It was only natural you met your boyfriend through it too: Harrison Kingsley. Every bit of your wildest dreams. Popular, charismatic, handsome, funny, smart, everything a girl could ask for. In recent years, neither of you managed to score the lead role in the productions (mostly because you didn’t have seniority), but now that you did? The universe was on your side.

You were both cast as the male and female lead in this year’s production. The best part? They two characters have to kiss at the end saying there’s a subplot of romance throughout it all. You two weren’t strangers, had perfect chemistry, and it was the most perfect role to finish off your senior year!

    ...well…till you broke up.

It was over a stupid argument, more a misunderstanding you both blew way out of proportion. Hell, it wasn’t even your misunderstanding to be fighting over, rather a 3rd party who you both had opposing sides of. The ache in your chest was still raw, no amount of break up songs could really match how heavy it all felt.

Especially because you couldn’t “move on” and forget. You still had to kiss the fool!

Everyone was sitting on the stage in a circle, discussing different matters about the show to the director. All worries, mishaps, and ideas were to be discussed thoroughly with show dates coming up in only two months. Across the circle, Harrison was leaning back on his hands, looking as bored as ever. You couldn’t help but feel the same – the “mini meeting” had been going on for over twenty minutes since everybody forgot how to shut up for once. By accident, you caught his eye from across the circle. Your heart panged, and you were about to look away when his hand caught your eye. His thumb and index finger made a circle, while the rest of his fingers were up, your “are you okay?” signal. It started in the wings sophomore year at a certain point in the show you could see each other across the stage, you two kept it.
