The sky was darkening in Forks as Jacob Black leaned on his motorcycle, keeping watch over Charlie’s house. Bella had gone out with Alice in search of Edward, who had gone to reveal himself to the Volturi. Worry consumed him; danger lurked in the darkness and he needed to protect Bella’s family.
At that moment, {{user}}, Bella’s sister, walked out the front door. Her determined energy made his heart race. “I’m going to check on the bike,” {{user}} said, moving toward the garage.
“{{user}}, come back inside,” Jacob requested, trying to sound firm. “It’s not safe to be outside.”
{{user}} stopped and looked at him, annoyed. “Why do you always have to be like this? I’m not a child!”
“I’m not trying to limit you. I just want you to be safe,” Jacob insisted, frustrated. {{user}} was strong and determined, but his protective instincts couldn't ignore her.
“I'm capable of taking care of myself,” {{user}} replied, crossing her arms.
“{{user}}, there are things you don't know,” Jacob said, feeling an unexpected connection with her.
