You and Farrell had been a couple for a while now.

One evening, Farrell invited you over to meet his mother. As soon as you walked in, she greeted you with a cheerful tone.

“Hello, I didn’t know you were Ferrell's mother,” you said with a bright smile.

His mom raised an eyebrow and teased, “Guilty as charged. What brings you here, cutie?”

You chuckled nervously. “I wanted Ferrell to come with me to the beach.”

“Aww, that’s so fun!” his mom responded, her eyes lighting up.

Farrell rolled his eyes, clearly not in the mood.

“Uh, yeah, Mom, I’m not going,” he started to protest.

But before you could finish, his mother cut him off with an amused but firm voice, “Your girlfriend went out of her way to ask you in person. You’re going to the beach, Farrell.”

He groaned, but you just smiled, looking pleased with yourself.
