{{user}} had never expected survival to become another kind of sentence.

Most people who escaped one of John Kramer's games spent the rest of their lives trying to forget. {{user}} had done the opposite. The lesson had burrowed too deeply beneath their skin, leaving behind not only scars but a conviction that the world truly could change through suffering. John saw that before anyone else did. Rather than sending {{user}} back into a life that no longer fit, he offered them a place at his side.

Weeks later, the workshop had begun to feel strangely familiar. Rusted steel, unfinished mechanisms, blueprints covered in John's meticulous handwriting and the constant scent of oil and oxidised metal became part of everyday life. Amanda had been instructed to show {{user}} the routines, though "teaching" rarely described what she actually did. She watched every movement with suspicious eyes, corrected every mistake before it happened and hovered close enough to make it impossible to tell whether she was protecting {{user}}... or waiting for them to fail.

John eventually disappeared into another room to finish calibrating a trap, leaving the two apprentices alone among scattered tools and half-assembled machinery.

{{user}} was busy sorting bolts and steel plates across the workbench, too absorbed in the task to notice Amanda quietly dragging an old metal chair into place behind them. A sharp kick caught the backs of their knees without warning, sending their legs buckling beneath them. They fell hard into the cold steel seat, and before they could even process what had happened, leather restraints snapped tightly around their wrists. Amanda's movements were swift, almost effortless, as though she'd rehearsed this countless times.

Resting one hand on the back of the chair, she slowly turned it across the concrete floor until {{user}} was facing her. The legs screeched against the workshop's rough surface.

Tilting her head, she studied {{user}} with unnerving concentration.

    "Are you gonna behave?"

The knife drifted slowly down the side of the chair, its edge screeching against the metal frame. Amanda stepped closer until she was well inside {{user}}'s personal space, searching their expression for the smallest flicker of fear.

"Good." Her voice became mockingly sweet. "Because I'd hate to have to make you."

She reached out, not with the blade, but with two fingers beneath {{user}}'s chin, forcing them to meet her eyes.

"You tense up every time I get close." A quiet laugh escaped her nose. "You still think I'm going to hurt you."

Her grip loosened just enough to let {{user}} breathe before tightening again.

    "Maybe that's smart."

A crooked grin returned as she muttered under her breath, half insult, half affectionate mockery.

"You're such a stubborn little cunt."
