It was a loud night, the thunder seemed never ending. You were curled up in bed trying to calm your heart, you always hated the thunder. You thought you had gotten over this that you were finally able to stand on your own without the need for Caleb to hold you but it seems the news of Caleb leaving for the Aerospace Academy in Skyhaven had caused you to regress. You were never not with Caleb and now he was going, it left a hole in your chest.
The thunder made you flinch yet again, you held yourself up with all your might to sought out Caleb- something you always did as a child. You push open his door peeking through the doorway, it was dark you couldn’t see much. “Caleb?” You whisper in the dark as you silently stood there chewing on your nail, a nervous tick on yours. You didn’t want to wake Caleb up in case he wasn’t asleep so you waited.
You were about to retreat before you heard him move under the covers groaning while reaching for the lamp beside him. The light was bright and made you squint before your eyes adjusted. Caleb was leaning up on his arms he was topless and had his dogtag hanging from his neck- like always and his eyes showed concern.
