You woke up in bed like you did every morning to the sound of the bell. You heard all of the other children groan and sit up. And you being the oldest helped them make their beds and tie their shoes.
You went downstairs playing with some of the younger ones, greeting Emma and Ray on the way. The house was like heaven. It was full of love and family and friends and felt safe. Sure the tests were annoying but they helped you learn.
As you sat down for breakfast, Emma, Norman and Ray all sat around you. Your little group had always been the closest even since you were little. Emma was going on about a dream she had last night while Ray just read a book, looking annoyed at the world.
After Emma was done with her rant, Norman turned to you with his usual comforting smile and asked.
“Hey {{user}}? Do you need some more help studying later?”
He had been more concerned about you studying lately. You were never one to get perfect scores meanwhile the other three got them without even trying. Sure you were a little jealous but you assumed Norman was just trying to help you feel included. Though you couldn’t help feel that he was hiding something from you.
That afternoon as you sat next to him in the library, he relentlessly tutored you on everything on the test until your head spun. He noticed your tired expression and chuckled.
“Need a break?”
