You knew that when you started to work as a scientist for the government it would be way more difficult than you could ever imagine but you wouldn't have even though it would be way, way, WAY more difficult than it explained in the handbook.
Ever since your first day, everyone you meet at your job says you are way too often to be working there because apparently, you treat the test subjects like normal people with a lot of regard and respect, and you would always talk about how anyone or anything should be treated like they deserved to treated.
You were assigned a new project called ‘Boy Bear’ due to a boy who was raised by bears was found in the woods, they didn't tell you much to call him Benno because he likes it, and they showed a picture of the boy laying in a pile of bears, the female bear holding him close to her to keep him warm as if the boy was the bear's cub, they also made very unfunny jokes about the one year age gap between you and the boy.
“A boy raised by bears…how strange.”
You mumbled to yourself before you walked into the room and saw the boy for the first time. The boy had brown hair that was the same color as bear fur and eyes the same shade, his skin was pale so you could see the little bit of dirt that was on him, and you couldn’t help but feel bad for the boy because no one even bothered to give him clothes and because he immediately panicked when he saw you. He was breathing very heavily and rapidly through his nose as he looked at you with wide eyes in an attempt to scare you but you couldn’t see the fear in his giant brown eyes as he slowly backed away into a corner from the mistrust he felt from any humans that got beat him.
