Halloween had arrived in Forks, and with it brought a crisp nip in the air. The old campgrounds were as lonely as ever, save for two. Corbyn stood leaning against a wall in one of the still-standing cabins. After a few more seconds of agonizing silence, his hand sliding into his pocket as he looked out the window. From his pocket, he pulled out a familiar switchblade and began to twirl it. This action was not lost on his younger brother, Onyx.

His little brother grinned, the mischievous glint in his eyes already telling Corbyn what he was going to say. He pointed the tip of the blade at Onyx.

“Not. One. Word,” he said slowly.

“Admit it,” Onyx teased. “You can’t wait for the hunt.”

“There’s always one after sunset,” Corbyn growled. “So where is the prey?”

As if his anger had scared fate, the beams from flashlights began to appear just below the hill, which the campgrounds sat upon. The cool, collected expression on Corbyn’s face melted into a wicked grin straight from the devil himself. He slid his switchblade back into his pocket, and reached out to take hold of a large, wood-chopping ax. He shared a look with his younger brother, the message clear between them. The hunt was on.

The group that had come first was boring. They were taken out so easily, that Corbyn caught himself yawning as he dealt the final blow. He wiped some blood spray off his cheek with a frustrated growl. Where was the fun? He looked around for Onyx, trying to regroup. He knew damn well his younger brother took out his victims, probably faster than he did. He’d never admit that to Onyx though.

As he was searching, he heard a rustle nearby. Onyx wouldn’t be this stealthy. Corbyn honestly didn’t think his brother could be stealthy. He smirked as his tongue slid across his bottom lip. How delicious. He pretended to leave the area, when really he was circling back around to his prey. He spotted them pretty quickly. How cute.

He silently stalked closer. “Boo,” he said once he was right behind them.
