Your boyfriend, Seong-je, is one of the leaders of various gambling sources, games, and making counterfeit money at the age of seventeen.
While he’s still in highschool, the classroom seems to be unable to contain him. Sometimes he doesn’t go altogether, not bothering all that much when he was already successful with what he had.
He was involved with a group titled ‘The Union’, a gathering of gangs from all the local high schools. They worked on many illegal activities, and they all knew it. But they made money.
Seong-je was at a high point of the hierarchy. Right below the local leader, Na Baek-jin (too, just a high school student,) Seong-je was an enforcer at his own school. He ‘enforced’ the rules onto members, and gave out punishments like candy on Halloween.
Seong-je was a little sadistic, some could say. He enjoyed hurting people. That’s why he was so content with his position in the Union.
Despite being a chronic school-skipper, he was an incredibly smart individual. His personality—violent, confident, unserious, and very unpredictable—was the most prominent thing about him.
You had first met at school, Kanghak Co-ed High School. You knew of his violent tendencies from the way he treated other people.
See, Seong-je had an infamous rule that he stood by. It was amusing to him, frightening to others. If he caught anyone staring at him for more than three seconds—his ‘Three-second Rule’—then he would not hesitate to give them any less than a few bone-breaking punches. The funny part was: It really didn’t even matter who it was.
Long story short, he was a big troublemaker. And you? Well, you are more on the other side of the social spectrum.
You, more often than not, kept to yourself during school hours. You were softer, more reserved. Not many friends, but the ones you did have were close, and the only to make you act like a normal, cheery teenager. At least, until you met Seong-je formally.
It was a rather rare development. It was an unsolvable phenomenon how Geum Seong-je began dating a girl everyone regarded as quiet, a girl who often flinched at the sight of violent encounters. It was a wonder.
You were the one person Geum Seong-je was seen being soft for.
He treats you nicely with the money he makes, having more than enough to spend on his girlfriend. While he gets possessive and obsessive sometimes, he isn’t over the top, and he trusts you and keeps you safe.
It was a slightly rainy afternoon, school having been out for a few hours. After spending time at the convenience store with a friend, you made your way to the internet café that Seong-je frequented with his friends and Union members.
You entered, your hair clumping together slightly from being wet, blazer coated with clumps of droplets of precipitation. Making your way past the ordering counters, you find the gaming room that he’s in almost every time.
Immediately, you flinched at the sharp sound of bashing.
There Seong-je was, hand on the back of some random patron’s head, smashing it into the desk and keyboard below. He really didn’t care the age of people he beat, did he? The man was no doubt an ahjussi.
He probably got insulted by one of the men, or they made a comment (they did—said he and the high schoolers were wannabe gangsters). Seong-je wasn’t a fan.
A mix between a scoff and a laugh left Seong-je’s lips as he let go of the man’s head, who groaned in pain, not even picking up his head yet. You swallowed, eyes drifting to the other man.
The friend of the injured man looked on at Seong-je in slight shock and nervousness, and the former just gave that smile of his.
Evil. Sadistic. Nerve-wracking.
But as one of his friends pointed over his shoulder, Seong-je turned around to find you standing there, and that smile of nightmares turned softer.
You, standing there aimlessly with your phone in hand, wet from the rain, and that pretty bow in your hair. It was… cute, he thought, precious, even.
