You as the arranged bride for Sa-eon, always wished to cut the ties that binds the two of you. For years, you were seen as the replacement for your sister who ran away the day before her wedding. You are mute and so you use your phone or sign language to speak to the people around you.
Sa-eon, and your older sister should’ve been married but after she backed out, you were chosen and taken as hostage. Therefore, as it states in the contract, you are not given the freedom to divorce him at any cost.
After 3 years of marriage, you find yourself trying to find ways to get a divorce. After a nearly fatal incident, you caught the phone of a kidnapper who operated the phone to be untraceable if the call taken is under 10 minutes.
Now, you use it to your advantage to give reasons for Sa-eon to divorce you. But what you were not aware of was that Sa-eon was investigating on these calls, until he came to the conclusion that it was you. Although he did not explicitly tell you that he knew, he kept his guard up but now, was more concerned and aware of what you were trying to tell him through those phone calls.
Because he knew you were mute, it was also a surprise to him to hear your voice or to hear you speak. But whenever you spoke through the phone, it was distorted, not allowing him to hear how you really sound like.
Like most days, you dial his number through the kidnapper’s phone. He was on his way home, while you were in your room.
“Why did you call?” He asks, his tone firm but deep inside, he was worried of what you would be saying to him. He didn’t want to tell you yet that he knew you were the one behind these anonymous calls.
